The A&E Department provides immediate medical care for patients with serious, life-threatening, or urgent conditions such as severe injuries, heart attacks, strokes, breathing difficulties, unconsciousness, and major trauma as well as Out-Patient Medical Care & Family Oriented Medical Services for the general public after office hours and weekend as well as Public Holidays.
Patients are treated based on the severity of their condition. Life-threatening emergencies are attended to first, regardless of arrival time.
Waiting times vary depending on how busy the department is and the seriousness of your condition. We adhere strongly to the Triage Equity and is color coded based on severity or urgency. Red or Critical cases are managed immediately, while Yellow or semi critical cases are to be seen within 15 minutes whilst Green for non- urgent cases are to be seen within 30 mins.
For safety and privacy reasons, only one accompanying person may be allowed, depending on the patient’s condition and department capacity. Staff will guide you accordingly.
The A&E team will stabilize the patient and coordinate transfer to the appropriate specialist unit or another hospital with the required services if necessary.
Charges depend on the type of care, investigations, and treatment provided. Our billing department will explain costs once the patient is stabilized or as per discharge.
You may approach the nurse station or the Customer Care Officer for updates. In critical cases, the attending doctor will brief next of kin directly.
